"Whilst I support the principle of international development and recognise the role which the private sector can play in creating progress, this report leans far too heavily on the Commission to achieve this goal and I therefore voted against the final resolution. However, I supported some amendments, specifically those respecting the sovereign rights of nations and the amendment on the need to improve the financial sector in developing nations."@en1
