lpv:spoken text	"I supported this report on implementation and review of the EU-Central Asia Strategy as it stresses the strong strategic, political and economic interest of the EU in strengthening its bilateral and multilateral relations with all the Central Asian countries on the basis of common shared values. However it also highlights the promotion and reinforcement of democracy, human rights, the rule of law and good governance. It stresses that despite limited positive developments in the countries of the region, democratic standards and human rights remain an issue, and pays special attention to women’s rights and gender equality. It also considers education to be a crucial pillar of integration and a democratic, economic and social development enabler for all the countries of Central Asia. For these reasons, I supported this report as a balanced one, recognising the importance of a strategic partner but also that there is more work to do on other key areas."@en1
