It is seeking to claim commendable NATO initiatives as its own (notably the 2% GDP defence spending target). It advances an EU agenda on ‘EU strategic autonomy’; ‘a European intelligence capacity’; integrated military forces; ‘a permanent EU military HQ’; an EU Council of Defence Ministers; and PESCO – all concepts of which we fundamentally disagree. The ECR Group therefore voted against the report."@en1
