lpv:spoken text	"As I’ve mentioned before, The European Court of Auditors plays a vital role in the institutions, being in charge of the audit of the EU’s finances and, as the EU’s external auditor, it contributes to improving the financial management of the EU as well as acting as the independent guardian of the financial interests of the EU’s half a billion citizens. In my view, it is vitally important that candidates for the Court are selected based on their suitability for the position, their professional backgrounds, language skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment are all important for considerations. I could not support the re-election of Mr. Balko in the vote; despite his experience, his poor presentation in the committee was surprisingly sub-par for someone with such experience in the field."@en1
