"The REFIT programme aims to cut red-tape, remove regulatory burdens, and simplify and improve the design and quality of EU legislation. While there is always a risk for vulnerable groups to be unduly affected by the reduction of administrative burdens, as tends to be the meaning behind ‘red-tape’, I can sympathise with the time-consumption and loss of revenue that such things introduce for many businesses. In this case I voted in favour of the report as I am confident that this report calls for the reduction of commercial burdens without reducing employment standards and will not encourage precarious types of employment. Furthermore, there is a clear commitment in this report for the inclusion of social partners and consumers in the programme, which was guaranteed by the work of the S&D Rapporteur, Sylvia Kaufmann."@en1
