"I voted against this report which concealed its real agenda under terms such as ‘administrative burdens’ or ‘regulatory burdens’
These are codes for an economy of low-pay, long-hours, non-unionised, de-regulated, two-tier, universal labour with the very barest minimum of social welfare support and privatised public services.
The discussion around lifting administrative burden for SMEs is something of a red herring: the extension of the Better Regulation Agenda is biased towards deregulation and will be used to justify lower standards for EU workers (including those in SMEs).
REFIT is linked to 'better law-making' and it is primarily concerned with de regulation. It is being concealed under the cover of efficiency but the agenda is very much related to financial de regulation.
Moreover, important initiatives such as maternity leave, cancer protection at the work place, etc. have already been blocked by EU-Commission with reference to REFIT. Better regulation was also major part of the Brexit deal to promise the UK an even more market liberal European Union and it also seems to play a role in the TTIP negotiations."@en1
