lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this proposal as it is a good step in simplifying EU rules on our trade with the African, Caribbean and Pacific group of countries (the so-called ACP). Our trading relations with the ACP has been in the process of being revamped for over 10 years, and as a result the applicable regulation has undergone many revisions, adding layers of complexity that now need to be simplified. This vote today therefore represents a small but not negligible step in the broader context of the conclusion of new Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) with groups of ACP countries. The EPAs raise a number of concerns, in particular in terms of sustainable development and the role of civil society. Today’s vote does not preclude our final position on the EPAs, which will depend on whether our concerns are addressed, especially the need for a real monitoring process, including African trade unions and civil society."@en1
