"A Uachtaráin, bhí áthas orm tacaíocht a thabhairt don tuarascáil seo agus áthas orm freisin gur glacadh leis.
I must say, having been involved with the veterinary profession for many years, I have great admiration for them. I think they are a sector of society that do not get enough praise for their good work and, particularly here in Europe where we have a very good name, as Mr Jahr pointed out, of traceability of our food products from farm to fork.
It is the veterinary profession that are the guardians of that particular great image which we have and want to preserve. For that reason, the proposals before us today are very apt; we want to ensure that there is full compliance with the rules and, again as Mr Jahr pointed out, the one danger is that the sale over the internet might not be always what we would like it to be, and that needs to be looked at very carefully to preserve the good name of the products, but also of the profession which, as I said, is exemplary."@en1
