"Today, I voted against calls of other MEPs to increase the EU budget; I believe, like my Labour colleagues, that the MFF – the Multi-Annual Financial Framework – for the EU is sufficient and adequate and that if it is properly managed then it has the capability to deal with the main challenges Europe faces. I believe that, when looking at the reform of the MFF, the main thing that we should be looking at is the redistributive nature of the available budget between different areas. We – Labour MEPs – have continually argued that more needs to be done and can be done within the current budget ceilings and that spending must be prioritised and redirected towards boosting sustainable growth and employment and dealing with the refugee crisis."@en1
