In recent times we have heard instances of corporate tax evasion and ‘sweetheart’ tax deals so it is welcome to hear of this arrangement between the EU and Andorra. The automatic sharing of information as of 2018 will help in the global fight against aggressive tax planning. In the UK in 2013/2014 the tax gap (total of tax debt, avoidance and corporate evasion) was GBP 119.4 billion. We need a European response to a pan-European problem, including through agreements like this proposal. In order to take effective action in this area the UK must remain a member of the EU."@en1
