"I voted in favour of this report which was drafted by my Labour colleague Mary Honeyball.
Women refugees and asylum seekers have specific protection and integration needs which have too often been overlooked. Research shows that women and girls face violence, assault, exploitation and sexual harassment at every stage of their journey, including on European soil. Women – and indeed children – who are entitled to claim asylum need safer alternatives, as this report sets out.
On International Women’s Day Labour MEPs are sending a very clear message that action must be taken to protect women and girls seeking asylum in the EU."@en1
