lpv:spoken text	"Gender inequality can only be overcome if it is tackled holistically in all areas of life, and in all areas of decision-making. Gender mainstreaming is one of the great policy innovations of the European Union, and it seeks to include a gender perspective in policy-making at all levels, and also ensure that women, and persons of all gender identities are equally represented in decision-making. As a co-legislator of European laws, effective gender mainstreaming in the European Parliament is key, and I hope it will have far-reaching effects on the EU’s promotion of gender equality in Europe. I worked on this report and am therefore delighted it has been adopted by a large majority. I look forward to working with my colleagues across political groups and with Parliament’s secretariats to implement the proposals we have now committed to, and hope to encourage Member States to follow suit."@en1
