lpv:spoken text	"Today is International Women’s Day and I could not think of a more appropriate time to have this report placed in front of the chamber. Gender inequality, in my view – a view that is shared by many of my colleagues in the S&D and in the EPLP, as well as across the chamber – can only be overcome if it is tackled in a holistic way: addressing every aspect of our lives. This innovation of gender-mainstreaming is a great tool which seeks to include a gender perspective in policy-making at all levels. It will ensure that women, and persons of all gender identities, are equally represented in decision-making. As a co-legislator of European laws, effective gender mainstreaming in the European Parliament is key."@en1
