lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of this Annual Report by the Commission on the Protection of the EU’s Financial Interests. One of the main conclusions of this year’s report stresses the urgent need of including VAT in the scope of an adopted PIF directive, and it asks the Council to explain its reasons for delaying the negotiations in view of the adoption of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office regulation (EPPO regulation) and calls for better harmonisation of criminal law when EU funds are at stake. I am glad to see that we recognise the proven effectiveness of OLAF’s investigations into the Commission’s Report where at the same time we criticise Member States’ failure to follow up on its recommendations. It is good to see that fraudulent irregularities dropped by 4% last year but this follows a sharp increase in the previous year. A new biannual EU Anti-Corruption report will also be produced by the Commission this year, with the first edition expected to be published in the coming months."@en1
