In this particular case, I note that there are challenges in regard to consumer pricing indices; in the UK, the index is vastly impacted by house prices and mortgage interest rates. Given that private home ownership is at much higher levels there than in most of continental Europe, this leads to a discrepancy. There is no real requirement for harmonisation or for a further EU Regulation on this subject."@en1
