"I wish to confirm I voted against this report. The report wanted to approve giving EUR 1 095 544 (60% of the match funding) through the Global Adjustment Fund (EU dole money) to 412 workers in Belgium who have lost their jobs. The Belgian Government submitted the request in 2015 when two production plants in Wallonia were shut down. The main reasons for the closures were as a result of strong competition and overcapacity in Asia.
That’s EUR 2 659 per person!! Job-seeker allowances should be a national government expenditure. United Kingdom taxpayers should not be contributing to this."@en1
