"It is important for the international community to recognise the extent of the horrors committed by Daesh, and much more must be done in order to cut off Daesh’s funding. The EU and UN must take action in order to put pressure on Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states to cut off Daesh’s funds.
However, the resolution does not address the plight of the hundreds of thousands of refugees who have escaped Daesh’s brutality. Thousands of vulnerable women, children, and men have made their way to Europe. 10 000 refugee children have disappeared, most likely abducted and trafficked, while moving across Europe. Many thousands more are in makeshift camps, such as those in Calais or Dunkirk, lacking basic services, surviving in inhumane conditions. Member States must do much more to alleviate the suffering of these refugees and take collective action, sharing responsibility instead of shying away from the problem."@en1
