"International agreements like TiSA will shape globalisation in the 21st century. It is our responsibility to ensure that international trade puts people and planet before profit, and that it raises standards globally, leading to real growth which is sustainable and inclusive, and trade that is fair for all. At the same time, trade agreements must be negotiated transparently, and must not compromise governments’ abilities to govern, or affect our public services.
I voted in favour of this report as it sets out a strong Parliament position, demanding high standards, protecting public services and workers’ rights. This is a clear signal to the Commission as to the kind of TiSA we would be willing to accept."@en1
