"Madam President, with today’s resolution on the TiSA negotiations we are calling on the Commission to change course in these negotiations. This was not an endorsement of a TiSA agreement. Any TiSA agreement must help, rather than weaken, the re-regulation of global trade in services.
Citizens have a voice in the European Union and that voice is in this House, the democratically-elected European Parliament. Rather than exercise their powers with responsibility to get results for citizens, some MEPs have chosen to act irresponsibly just to get their press release. The public should not be fooled by this appalling attitude. We have to stand for fair trade and take our responsibilities in acting for it in this House."@en1
