The objection states that in October we rejected the new Commission proposal on GM food and feed and called on the Commission to devise a new one, and as such no new GM food/feed should be authorised under the current legal framework, which even the Commission acknowledges is not working in a satisfactory way. I will reiterate that the Commission must come forward with a new proposal on this matter and for GMO food and feed in general and develop a fully-informed and decision-making process that is grounded in science when it comes to GMOs and one that responds to the public concerns and expectations."@en1
