"The UK Conservative Delegation supports EU aims to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2020 and fully supports the report’s calls for greater ambition and effort in the implementation and enforcement of the Nature Directives. However, the delegation believes that the report’s position on GMOs, the use of neonicotinoids and the practice of hydraulic fracking does not adequately reflect the science, and could result in restrictions on certain practices and products without adequate evidence of risk to the environment. In light of this, UK Conservative MEPs requested a series of roll call, separate and split votes on paragraphs 81, 82 and 88 of the report."@en1
