"I wholeheartedly support cooperation between France, the United Kingdom and other Member States in joint efforts on tackling terrorism. The terrorist attacks in Paris last year were a strong wake—up call for every country in Europe that the fight against terrorism is far from won. However, this should not be at the expense of surrendering our individual countries’ right to take our own action in these areas to defend our borders and our citizens. So, unfortunately, I cannot support this motion for resolution."@en1
