"President, it was great to see one of my fellow Labour MEPs have her report pass after having worked on it so hard. Naturally, I voted in favour of this report, not only to support my colleague, but also because I believe that it is crucial to adopt intercultural dialogue as a strong and committed objective of the EU through interactive communication within – and between – cultures. There is a growing need for this dialogue, particularly in the light of such dramatic events as the refugee crisis and the terrorist attacks in Paris. Europe must tackle these common challenges and promote its fundamental values. This report identifies the potential opportunities that could be taken along with the challenges, making concrete recommendations for action at all governmental levels as well as at EU level."@en1
