"I voted to support this resolution as the Dayton Peace agreement is an opportunity to commend the country on the efforts it has made in moving from a situation of harsh armed conflict resulting in the death of thousands and the displacement of millions of people to a situation where there has been no serious military incidents in recent years. Full implementation of the DPA is in order to ensure sustainable return and also fair, comprehensive and durable solutions for internally displaced people, refugees and other conflict- affected persons, continues to be needed. Addressing the socio-economic needs of citizens must be the priority, as well as the establishment of an effective coordination mechanism on EU matters. It is also crucial to continue, in parallel, with political reforms and democratisation of the political system, which will lead in the direction of ensuring true equality and democratic representation of all three constituent peoples and all the country’s citizens. All citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina must have an equal opportunity to be elected to all levels of political decision-making."@en1
