I would like to remind everyone that this is not only about the situation with human rights, but also the rights of the child. Ibrahim was 17 when he went to jail, when he was imprisoned. How many others are in prison at that age? How many others have lost their lives? We really have to imagine what it might be like to be a child in those circumstances, if it were our child – and it is, in fact, as Ibrahim is an Irish citizen. I hope the Egyptian authorities are listening to our concerns. I hope they are taking on board the concerns of the European Union. It is a case concerning the rights of the child, as well as the rights of an adult human being."@en1
