The UN Secretary-General called for a first-ever World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) to be planned to be held in Istanbul next May. In a world being faced with unprecedented humanitarian crisis there is a clear call to shift the focus from response to prevention. The aim of the summit is to determine the future agenda in the fields of international humanitarian law, humanitarian intervention and assistance, as well as to establish norms strengthening international law and practice in this domain."@en1
