"The Recast Directive is supposed to complement the Community’s Trade Mark Regulations by harmonising national rules on trade marks, and is a part of the same package as the regulation. The priorities that Labour MEPs had for this legislative proposal concerned defending human rights, preserving public health and safety as well as conserving jobs. For me this means guaranteeing a better deal for the people of the West Midlands and I believe that these laws will achieve this. Furthermore, the European Parliament was also able to achieve lower fees – by up to 37% – and made a system that not only benefits the users of trade marks but has lowered the bureaucratic burden and made it far more efficient."@en1
