"Madam President, by the end of 2017 Britain will vote to decide whether we remain inside the largest regional economic bloc in the world or are cast adrift to an uncertain future outside the EU. I believe that we should remain at the top table, rather than shouting from the sidelines. Why? For five reasons: North-East investment, jobs, our rights, our health and UK security. UK citizens, your rights at work are at stake in this debate: your right to paid holidays, your right to equal pay and your right not to be killed or injured at work. All these are EU-based rights delivered by your MEPs. This Tory government is devastating workers’ rights at home. Do not give them an easier ride. We need a stronger set of rights across Europe, and Labour MEPs are leading that fight for you. Vote to remain in and join our fight for better rights across Europe."@en1
