"Madam President, I listened very carefully to what the Commissioner and my colleagues had to say, and I am very pleased overall. I remember being here in plenary five or six years ago when this was being discussed, and many Members were making the point that, due to the financial crisis, in particular young entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurs could not get the money needed to start up. It is great that this has been such a success. As the Commissioner pointed out, there has been only a 5% drop-out and, particularly, a figure of 37% women – even though the target was 40% – and they hope to move to 50-50. That is very encouraging indeed.
She also mentioned the review in 2016, and hopefully this will continue. It has to continue, because it has been a success. We need to hear more about the successes in Europe rather than the criticisms we hear of our failings."@en1
