lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I fully support the priority objective of an Energy Union and we need to move quickly in this direction. We are not going to get the growth we all want to see across the 28 Member States of the European Union unless we have a sufficient energy supply. It is crucially important that we back the Framework Convention (FC) proposals, the Juncker Plan, and use the opportunity of investment so that we can get more interconnectors and get more networks in place to make sure that we have the infrastructure in place to create a genuine Energy Union across the European Union. I applaud the success of Paris last week. I come from Ireland, a country which imports over EUR 7 billion worth of energy every single year because we are at the end of a very long gas pipeline. We depend on others for our energy supply. We need to invest in renewables. We need to invest in alternatives. We have got to make sure that energy becomes more efficient in our building, and all other things we need to do to make sure this Energy Union happens."@en1
