"Whilst my UKIP colleagues and I recognise that there is a need for bodies like the OECD and G20 to revise the tax treatment of multinational companies, we have seen from the plenary resolution of 25 November 2015 that Parliament and the TAXE Committee are more interested in harmonising taxes, eliminating tax competition and extending the powers of the EU into tax matters which are properly the exclusive competence of sovereign nations. These are not matters for the EU, and the TAXE Committee has shown itself to be powerless to require attendance of witnesses or disclosure of documents – without which its investigations can only ever be inconclusive. For these reasons my fellow UKIP MEPs and I voted against."@en1
