lpv:spoken text	"I voted in favour of Parliament’s resolution on a new animal welfare strategy 2016-2020.The resolution, which builds on the current strategy which expires this year, calls for better implementation of existing EU rules in all Member States to ensure high animal welfare standards across the EU. Even though the level of animal welfare in the EU is one of the highest in the world, this resolution aims to further improve standards through the basis of scientific findings with due regard for the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural livestock husbandry. EU citizens have a strong interest in animal welfare and this resolution should enable them to make more informed choices as consumers."@en1
