lpv:spoken text	"A Protocol signed in 2014 allows Ecuador to accede to the EU’s Trade Agreement with Colombia and Peru on ratification. A provision is in force to maintain the EU’s tariff preferences for Ecuador that it previously enjoyed under the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP), throughout 2016 or until such time as the protocol on accession shall be ratified. The motion for a resolution supports Ecuador’s accession to the Agreement. Though the tariff reductions contained in the Colombia-Peru Agreement would help sectors of the Ecuadorian economy access EU markets, it also contains politicised sections. Because a full assessment of the Agreement’s implications for Ecuador must be left to the actual ratification process, UKIP MEPs voted to abstain on the resolution."@en1
