"After the appalling attacks in Paris, the need to prevent terrorist attacks of this nature recurring is undoubtedly critical. This cannot be achieved with an inadequate response at a European level. This report emphasises the necessity of creating a common framework for dealing with foreign fighters. The recent tragedies have brought into sharp relief the report’s recommendation that European law enforcement must cooperate more to effectively combat terrorism in all of its forms. Furthermore, to counter radicalisation in programmes, the separation of prisoners must be considered. The report also refers to radicalisation on the internet, which provides specific challenges given its global and cross-border nature. We need to prevent the internet being used to radicalise people across Europe by having a proper counter-radicalisation strategy that encompasses the internet. Only with a European approach can we solve this problem."@en1
