"Mr President, I would just like to say that it is not you I am getting at particularly, it is the whole system – the EU has been far too fast. What is terrifying – and I am speaking about this issue here – is that laws, or rather freedoms, in Europe are being lifted faster than you can sell a prize bull at a cattle auction. I think that is terrifying to most British people watching today’s performance. I know we have a lot of stuff to get through. Perhaps we should get through less stuff and we would get it through better.
I am concerned also that the Left and the Liberals are covering their mistakes with open door immigration by trying to have a radical, rapid, authoritarian legislation brought in, which I do not think is in the interests of either catching these criminals or indeed of liberty in Europe. So there are two things that are a threat. Firstly, there is the speed of passing laws, which no one has properly considered. Secondly, there is the fact that the Left is trying to cover their tracks and their mistakes by bringing in authoritarian laws."@en1
