lpv:spoken text	"The report contains direct taxation and tax harmonisation powers for the EU that I cannot support. Too few of the UK delegation’s amendments were taken on board. We had tried to emphasise the benefits of fair tax competition, emphasised the important role of state aid rules acting as a deterrent in Member States’ compliance, underlined the fact that issues relating to direct taxation are a national prerogative and that changes to Council unanimity rules would require changes to the treaty. In addition, the ECR tried to make the report a bit softer by mitigating the alleged misconducts by MNCs and Member States. However the final report does not reflect our amendments."@en1
