"I voted in favour of this report because child poverty in my constituency remains a problem and the Conservative government has not done enough to help the young people disproportionately affected by their policies. Labour MEPs have always championed a better quality of life, especially for the most vulnerable in society. The report calls for a real commitment from Member States to tackle the factors which are causing child poverty and increase the scope of social support for children. It also promotes labour laws that guarantee a statutory adequate minimum wage and collective agreement, which will provide greater security for families and fight precarious employment."@en1
