"I represent London, where more than half a million children are living below the poverty line. Worryingly, levels of in-work poverty have grown. Labour MEPs have always championed a better quality of life, especially for the most vulnerable in society. This report calls for a real commitment from Member States to tackle the root causes of child poverty and increase the scope of social support for children. It also promotes labour laws which include a statutory adequate minimum wage and collective agreements. This will provide greater security for families and fight precarious employment."@en1
