"The proposal for reform of the electoral law of the European Union suggests many positive changes to the procedures for electing the European Parliament – the nomination of candidates for the Presidency of the Commission, gender-balanced lists, a vote for 16-year-olds and improved possibilities for voting abroad. However, I voted against the final report as I do not support proposals to introduce a Europe-wide constituency and a common European election day. Many aspects of the report still need thorough consideration and further evaluation."@en1
