lpv:spoken text	"I did not support this report, as I do not support the idea of obligatory thresholds which can exclude smaller parties and independents – even if this does not impact on my home country – and nor do I support the concept of an additional European list. I also voted against provisions for zipped lists, not because I do not believe in gender equality but rather because of the specific measure cited. There were some good proposals in this report, which I did support and was pleased to see succeed, such as the proposal to give equal visibility to the names and logos of national parties and their affiliated European parties on ballot papers and the proposal to harmonise the voting age at 16 to further enhance democratic participation in EU elections. I hope that these will be taken up by the Council."@en1
