"Mr President, I want to agree with my colleague. Particularly in an exceptional week like this, where we had no explanations of vote yesterday and we had to cram three days’ explanation of votes into less than an hour, it is not good enough. It is not your fault, Mr President. It is a decision taken by the Bureau, but it has to be reflected on. When MEPs are willing to stay here they should be given the opportunity to do so, especially as, normally, we would be here until 17.00 on a Thursday and it was decided we should finish at 13.30, even though MEPs wanted to stay and give their explanation of the votes. I know one can do it in writing, but if we were all going to do it in writing we could go home when the votes are over. It is not satisfactory, it is not democratic and it is certainly not fair to MEPs that this is the decision which has been taken. It has nothing to do with you, Mr President – you are only implementing what has been decided – but we would appreciate it if you would take this back to the Bureau. Certainly, in exceptional circumstances, it should be changed. We have a position today where we had votes on seven or eight issues and there is not even an opportunity for one person to give an explanation on today’s votes."@en1
