lpv:spoken text	"I voted to reject the Commission’s proposal on genetically modified food and feed. I also voted in favour of asking the Commission to submit a new proposal. I felt that the proposal produced by the Commission this time around did not legitimately address the concerns surrounding this topic, not least its impact on and implications for food sovereignty. Such a sensitive proposal, seeking to combine GM food and feed, requires a full impact assessment. Any approval system within the EU would need to be based on an assessment of the impact on conventional and organic farmers, animal and human health as well as the environment. Provision for such an assessment was lacking in this case. For these reasons I felt it necessary to ask the Commission to come up with another proposal."@en1
