"This report takes into account that children and young women have become seriously marginalised as a result of the Ebola crisis and that it has seriously threatened women’s engagement in the work force. Many orphaned children face barriers to education as a result of the crisis. They also face a regression in access to health care due to stigmatisation. The report notes the insufficient amount of healthcare staff in areas such as Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, and the deaths of almost 500 healthcare professionals as a result of the disease. For going forward it is imperative to provide more information and education on preventative measures. Education should also be used as a tool to break the barriers of stigmatisation faced by so many recovering patients, and/or children of those patients. The report calls on the international community to provide help in disseminating information that could lead to a greater awareness and prevent future outbreaks of the disease."@en1
