"I welcomed this move, as it highlights the need for a European tourism sector that is sustainable, responsible and accessible across Europe. Tourism is a vital cornerstone of the Welsh economy, bringing in UKP 1 billion in Cardiff alone. It is crucial that consumer concerns in this area are recognised. Labour will continue to work with consumer groups, safety organisations and industry representatives to prevent rare but devastating cases where inadequate health and safety rules have led to tragedies, including deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning. We need to work hard together to ensure rigorous safety standards across Europe, so that all holiday makers can have the peace of mind that their dream holiday is not going to turn into a nightmare."@en1
