"Madam President, I support this report as well, particularly as currently two-thirds of package travel sales take place online. This is a huge increase in recent years, so an updated directive suitable for the digital age is much needed. This proposal meets the challenges of both the modern environment and traditional sales. Package travel is becoming increasingly popular, and this directive protects both the consumer and businesses by setting clear standards for liability, cancellation, reimbursement and a limit for post-contractual price increase. If a package travel service goes bankrupt, measures in place mean that payments already made by customers are secured through clear insolvency provisions.
Dá bhrí sin, vótáil mé i bhfabhar na tuarascála seo mar cabhróidh sé le suas le 120 milliún duine a bhíonn ag taisteal gach uile bhliain agus a cheannaíonn ticéid agus mar sin de ar an idirlíon. Tabharfaidh sé cosaint dóibh agus cabhróidh sé leo gan EUR 430 milliún a chailliúint gach uile bhliain."@en1
