"Mr President, on behalf of British Labour MEPs, I welcome any cooperation with Turkey and other countries that can help better manage the current crisis. You have heard the cynical voices from some in this House, but they will never seek solutions. Instead, they will only seek to use this tragic situation for political gain. National leaders who have reached this deal must take on their responsibilities to deliver their own agreement. This crisis is a continuing nightmare for all those families forced to walk mile upon mile to reach shelter and food for their children. These are people just like us: they are human beings. It is not a political game. Talking of which, I note that at the Council meeting there was a short discussion on the terms of the UK’s negotiations and referendum, so I will use this opportunity to warn Prime Minister Cameron: there can be no more delay. This is too important. He now needs to join us in securing a future that Britain deserves: a future inside the European Union."@en1
