The decision in question is aimed at allowing Europol and other authorities to consult the Visa Information System. As I am opposed to any law—enforcement authority accessing the Visa Information System or any other non-legal enforcement databases, I abstained on this decision setting a date of entry into force. Such interference has a stigmatising effect on migrants and foreign travellers. Given my opposition to the main legal text, I abstained on when it should come into effect."@en1
