"The various pieces of EU legislation which protect geographical indications for food and drink have been a huge success story. Whilst the EU often tends towards harmonisation, geographical indications do the opposite and help protect Europe's cultural variety and diversity. The possibilities of extending GIs to non-agricultural products are exciting and I therefore voted in favour of this report."@en1
