"This vote presents the usual dilemma for UKIP MEPs: on the one hand, we support the principle of international cooperation in pursuit of laudable goals such as the prevention of forced labour. On the other hand, we believe that there are two appropriate vehicles for such cooperation i.e. the United Nations and bilateral agreements between governments. Such bilateral agreements work well. Indeed, their first known usage for extradition dates back to the 13th century BC. The European Union has at best a questionable track record at achieving its stated aims in this regard. For that reason, I considered it appropriate to abstain overall."@en1
