"This report sends a very clear message that education will play a critical role in making gender equality a reality. Schools are fundamental in shaping attitudes, choices and ambitions. If we are to empower girls to achieve their true potential, we must create learning environments where gender stereotypes are challenged, where no child is discriminated against, and where all children can thrive. Women are still under-represented in senior leadership and decision making positions whilst being over-represented in early years and primary education. As a result, girls often lack role models, particularly in science and technology subjects. I voted for this report because it rightly identifies the urgent need to tackle these inequalities and presents practical solutions."@en1
